Sometimes PlaneCommand doesn't respond to you in the way you expect. Perhaps it mis-hears the command that you're saying, or doesn't hear you at all. This can be frustrating.
While I don't have an easy solution here, I have some recommendations that have improved speech recognition accuracy for users:
- Speak clearly and at a moderate speed and volume.
Not too fast, not too slow.
- Try using a different microphone, especially if you have a noise cancelling or directional microphone.
Personally, I found that using a directional microphone made an enormous difference.
- Experiment with different microphone placements.
For headset microphones, it's often better to put the microphone beside the corner of your mouth rather than right in front.
- Eliminate background noise as much as possible- computer fans, air conditioning, etc.
This can make a huge difference. I recommend giving a command, then replaying the audio to listen for any obvious background noise or hum. You can do this by going to the following menu item: Plugins > PlaneCommand > Troubleshoot audio..., and clicking the "Replay last recording" button.
That said, I do know PlaneCommand doesn't always work well enough for everybody in every situation, and why I recommend using the free trial version to make sure you're happy with PlaneCommand before making a purchase.
